As the first in a series of retail shops designed for Ann Turk, a leading
designer in women's and men's leather accessories, this intimate showroom
of 500 sf sets an elegant mood. Located on Washington Avenue and Eighth
Street in South Beach, the showroom is part of the emerging retail district
that includes the Versace Boutique, Armani Exchange, and Kenneth Cole. The
store is subtle yet dynamic. Its undulating cabinetry, mix of glass and
maple, sculptural forms, and soft light colors act as a carefully crafted
background to the accessories on display. The cabinetry is clear finished
maple, and the floor is a fine white polished marble. Pewter hardware was
custom cast by the owner to accent his company's fine craftsmanship and
clever detailing. The stainless steel dressing room is capped with a wood
framed mirrored door.
