Located in a newly emerging design district the gallery addressed the need for a
space that would act as a forum for contemporary art. The gallery was divided in
half. The left side is the main gallery and the right is divided into two project
rooms, an office, and storage area. The lighting, the exposed concrete ceiling,
frosted storefront windows, galvanized steel ductwork, and poured concrete reception
desk lend an almost laboratory like backdrop for art. The "daylight fluorescent"
lighting in the main gallery offers an alternative approach to the atmospheric
incandescent lighting found in most art galleries.
